About St. Therese

st-thereseThe sun shines equally both on cedars and on every tiny flower.
In just the same way God looks after every soul as if it had no equal.
All is planned for the good of every soul, exactly as the seasons are so
arranged that the humblest daisy blossoms at the appointed time.
– St. Therese

Born in 1873, Therese of Lisieux entered the Carmelite convent at the tender age of 15 with the declaration, “I want to be a saint.” She led a quiet, obscure, humble life in the convent, recognizing that her greatest work would come later. “After my death, I will let fall a shower of roses. I will spend my heaven doing good on earth.” And thus it has been: since her untimely death at age 24, her intercession has brought cures, miracles, and blessings, many accompanied by roses or the scent of roses. The Academy of St. Therese was founded through her intercession. She was canonized in 1925, and in 1997, Pope John Paul II declared her a “Doctor of the Church” because of her tremendous spiritual legacy.

A most powerful prayer to At. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus:

Dear St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus, please pick a rose from the heavenly garden send it to me. (Mention your petition.) Please take my prayer to Mary Our Mother so that together you may approach her Divine Son, Jesus. I promise I will love you more and more and, if my prayer is answered, be better able to spend eternal happiness with you. (To be prayed for nine consecutive days before 11:00 A.M.)
