Spring Yard Sale
Here’s your chance to do some spring cleaning and donate your unwanted items for a good cause! We want all your old treasures (from toys, clothing and appliances to furniture, plants and books). You can drop items off anytime during the school year.

Big Band Dinner Dance
Enjoy your favorite music of the big-band era with a few modern classics thrown in! String of Pearls features 15 musicians and a vocalist. There will be room to swing, waltz, tango and foxtrot the night away, so bring a friend!

Annual Golf Tournament
If you’re a golfer, we’d love to have you on the course! You can put together a foursome and join us the first Saturday in June at Pequot Golf Club in Stonington, CT. It’s a day of fun and an evening of good food, entertainment and prizes! (Non-golfing guests may join us for Happy Hour and dinner.)
Become a corporate or individual sponsor of the event! All sponsors will be acknowledged here on our website, in the tournament program, on the tee or green and in our newsletter. One lucky golfer might win $1,000 for the Hole in One Contest!

Marian String Ensemble Concert
Students of the Academy perform in their annual spring concert.

Puppy Promenade
Calling all pooches! Does your pup have the stuff for a prance along the Thames River? Cost is $25 per pooch, but we encourage you to find additional sponsors for your pup. The doggie with the most sponsorship wins a prize! Don’t own a dog? No problem! We can lease you a dog for the event (provided by the CT Greyhound Association and available to foster or adopt). You and your new friend will enjoy the exercise and the family fun! If you’d like us to pick up after your dog, you can purchase Excrement Insurance. (All dogs with $100+ sponsorship receive free insurance.) Children between the ages of 3-6 can be entered in our Blue’s Clues game. Help them find clues to the puzzle to win prizes after your walk.

Defenders Game
Take the family out to the ball game! And support the Academy! Half of every $8 ticket will go to support the school. At the game our students will perform on the field, singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”

Fall & Spring Clothing Drive
Clean out your closets, drawers, attics, basements and garages! Clothing, stuffed animals and household items (such as pillows and blankets) can be donated. Once the bags hit the scale, the Academy is given ten cents a pound! Most of the items are shipped overseas to the less fortunate.
Thanks to all of our supporters who made our first clothing drive a great success. We collected over 3000 pounds of clothing and household items that earned us over $400. Most of the items will be shipped to Poland and other countries to those less fortunate than us. Thanks again. This was such a huge success we will be doing it again in the early fall. So clean out your closets and drawers!!!

Cow Chip Bingo and Family Fun Day
From the exciting and big-prize winning cow chip bingo contest to sack races and softball games, this event at Alice Acres Farms over Columbus Day weekend is fun for all ages! Prizes of $1,000, $300 and $100 are awarded to winners of the cow chip bingo contest (individual tickets $10 each)! Wrap up the day with some delicious homemade ice cream from Cows and Cones!
